We are haing a BOY!!!!!!

Matt and I went to see the specialist today (June 16th- 16 weeks and a day). Today the specialist was planning on doing a sonogram to measure my cervix. There was some concern that my cervix wasn't going to be large enough to carry our little peanut full term. If my cervix wasn't large enough, we would be heading into surgery in a couple of days. The doctor would have to put a stitch in my cervix the size of a shoe lace. As you can imagine, Matt and I were more than a little nervous about this appointment.  After the week that we just had, we could really use some good news.

The doctor was very pleased with what he saw. I'll spare you guys all the details... I'll just say that everything looks great! After hearing this news, I looked over at Matt and gave him a high five. We could now cross a major worry off of our plate.  We take a deep breathe.... we both know this is the news that we were needing. Now, it's time to take a look at our little peanut.

The moment we were most excited about... The baby is looking great. The little peanut's heart is flickering a way. The doctor points out the four chambers of the baby's heart. We look at the baby's profile. We get a good look at the baby's face. The doctor points out the bottom of the baby's foot.

Then the doctor starts typing. Across the big screen monitor Matt and I see the phrase....

I'm a boy!!!

I looked at Matt and said "we're having a boy!!!" He gives a little holler out and then just starts laughing, his happy/excited laugh. Matt was beaming. I couldn't be more happy. I was laying there looking at the man of my dreams knowing that he is going to have the opportunity to raise a baby boy. This momma couldn't ask for anything more. We are going to have a sweet baby boy to love and hold every day.
