36 weeks

and 37 weeks. He has grown a bunch!
We had another sonogram on Monday. Doctor wanted to monitor Will closely until my blood work came back. Everything still looks great. Will is now weighing 6 lbs 11 oz!!!!

Today I got a phone call from my nurse informing me that my blood work came back normal. My enzyme levels were within a normal limit. So, that means my rash isn't anything that I need to worry about. Sounds like PUPPS is what I have. I can deal with being (really) itchy as long as my baby boy isn't  affected.

It won't be long now until our baby boy arrives. Matt and I can not even begin to express the excitement that we have. We completed the three baby classes that we signed up for: Lamaze, baby basics, and breast feeding. Happy to report that 2/3 classes were really good. Matt will be taking the car/car-seat up to a car seat safety check next week. We are doing our best to be as prepared as we possibly can be. Ha, that makes me laugh! Prepared, is that possible?

Whether we are fully prepared or not, I do know one thing.... Matt and I love our little guy more than I could possibly begin to explain.  A wonderful family of 3 we will be!

Baby Will at 35 weeks.

We had our 35 week sonogram on Friday October 28th. Baby Will has grown so much. He was weighing a big 6lbs! The sonogram tech told us that he is right at the 50th percentile. She said that everything looks wonderful... he is growing beautifully. If he continues to bake until his due date, he could arrive into this world weighing 8 1/2 pounds.  Friday was the greatest day... I was a very proud mommy!!

It's a baby shower weekend..!!

My Texas friends are throwing a baby shower for Will and I this weekend.  Tina and my aunt are on their way into town. I am really looking forward to spending time with family and friends on Saturday! I'll put up shower pictures at the end of the weekend. For now, here is the latest belly picture....

Those stripes are working hard.

32 weeks

We had another doctor's appointment this week.  For those of you that don't think my belly is big enough... back off:) Doctor says that I am doing great! My belly is measuring 32, which is right on target with where we are.  I know this will be hard for most of you to believe, but I have put on a grand total of 34 pounds so far. Unfortunately, that number is only going to go up. I was told that the Will should put on 1/2 a pound a week until we deliver. I figure that means another pound a week for me.... you do the math.  Matt and I were able to hear William's heart beat while we were there. His little heart was beating at 135 this week. I love his little heart beat.

The rug and canvas print that I ordered for the nursery came in this week.  I have to tell you, I was really nervous. We had already sent one rug and one picture back, which meant I had to pay to ship those items back. I don't think Matt would have been too happy to hear that we would be shipping more items back. Luckily, they both worked out this time! I couldn't be happier with the end result.

Daddy in the nursery:)

Matt flew to Kansas City this weekend. This is Derek's senior year and Matt wanted to catch a high school match while he still could. Matt and I had originally planned to go back for Derek's senior night to watch a game, but the baby on the way has changed those plans. I am in the no fly zone, so that meant Matt had to go back without me. I am so happy that Matt is able to go back for Derek's tournament, but I am super sad that I won't be able to see the fam as well. While Matt is in Kansas City representing the Montgomery Clan, I'll be here trying to knock some more items off of our forever long 'before Will gets here to-do list.'

Next weekend my friends and co-workers are throwing me a baby shower. Tina and my Aunt Janet will be coming in town for that. I am starting to get really excited to see them and to celebrate our little guy on board with all of our Texas friends. It should be a fun weekend!

31 weeks and counting....!

 Grow baby Will, grow!
Each day Matt and I can feel that Will is getting stronger. His movements are more intense and his kicks really pack a punch. Tomorrow marks 32 weeks.  We have an appointment this week (for our every two week check).  This week Matt and I plan on talking to the doctor more about labor and delivery.... what can we expect, when will we know.... that kind of stuff. We are rookies at this, so we need to get all the details that we can.

Matt has really started to cut back on his travels for work and is now starting to keep his phone on him at all times. We are getting down to crunch time. I realize that we still have 8 weeks to go, but we just never know. We hope that Will keeps on cooking and doesn't have an alternate plan.

Shout out to my kick ass husband moment:
I am very thankful that Matt is able to slow his travels down during this time. He flew to Philadelphia this morning, but somehow managed to make it a day trip. So, he will be back at home late this evening. I know that this makes for a very long day for him. I wish I knew a way to express how thankful I am for the sacrifices that he is willing to make for me. Being able to snuggle up with him this evening is the best gift that he could give me after my long day.  My husband is amazing...! Thank you, dear.

30 weeks

It's hard to believe that we are coming into the home stretch. We have less than 10 weeks to go....!!!

I am VERY happy to report that my back is starting to feel better. It's amazing how much more pleasant I am when I am feeling better. I was in a lot of pain there for a few weeks. I started to wear a materninty belt.... so far, this seems to be helping. The belt gives my back the extra support that I guess I was needing. :)

Yesterday, Tiana and I starting working on an art project for the nursery. We weren't able to finish the picture yesterday, like I was hoping.  We decided that we needed to go a different route for the letters that we were using (Thanks to Matt's guidance). We'll have to make another trip to the store next weekeend and continue from there.

The carpet and picture that I ordered for the wall came in last week. I wasn't crazy about the carpet and the picture turned out to be too small. So, I ordered a different area rug for the nursery and I ordered the same picture, just in a larger size. Bummed that I am having to make some exchanges, but I want it to be perfect. Matt often needs to remind me that I need to take a deep breathe. He ensures me that we have plenty of time. It will eventually all come together and when it does, it will be just the way we want it!!

Today, Matt is working on putting the changing table together. This is the last furniture piece that needs to be assembled. Thank you hunny for all of your help. Will and I love you very much!!!!

Mommy Update

When Matt's parents were in town a couple of weeks ago, my sciatic nerve started to act up. Unfortunately, it hasn't let up since. When it first started it was just affecting the lower right side of my back. It is now more severe... I now feel it in my right butt cheek and my hip.  Every time I take a step, I feel excruciating pain in all of those areas. The doctor told Matt about the stretches that he could help me with, but so far the stretches aren't making it any better. She also told me to try low amounts of heat and Tylenol... not working. I feel better while I rest, but then I find as soon as I get up I am so stiff that I can hardly walk. So, the question remains... do I rest it or do I continue to work it out? Matt told me the other day that it looked like I had a wooden leg. Poor me:(

I am not much of a complainer, so I hate that I am having to report this news. But, it is part of the journey. I know that I have been extremely lucky thus far to have had such a smooth pregnancy. At the end of the day I know that it could be way worse.... I am just hoping that this pain subsides sometime soon. And if it doesn't, I'll suck it up. There isn't anything that I wouldn't do for this little guy.

Next step... I'll try an appointment for a prenatal massage and I'll give the Chiropractor a shot.

The fun part, I am really starting to grow. Here are the most recent belly pics.

I took this picture for all the people that think I am tiny. There isn't anything tiny about this belly....

Baby Montgomery update

I am happy to report that Baby Will is still an active an healthy baby. In the past two weeks we had our 3D sonogram and then a sonogram at the doctor's office. Here is his progress...

3D sonogram-27 weeks

I was so excited to be able to set up the 3D sonogram appointment for the Saturday that Matt's parents were here. This was going to be a special moment for Matt and I.... so thankful that Paul and Cheryl were able to join us. This was the first time that we were going to see our little guys face. Matt and I were having mixed emotions. We were beyond excited, but we were also very nervous. This was a big day for us!

Will wasn't phased by the orange juice that they told me to drink 30 minutes before the appointment. Mommy knows best, I should have eaten a piece of chocolate cake before or some ice-cream (Will loves icecream!). He wanted to sleep through most of the show. We were about to throw in the towel and reschedule for another date, but he decided to wake up.  The funny thing was, once he woke up he was moving so much that it was hard to get a good picture of him. We did manage to get a few good shots.

Our little angel has the cutest chubby cheeks!!!
The start of a yawn.
My everything.
Legs and proof that he is a boy

Sonogram at the doctor- 28 weeks

The next week we had an appointment with Dr.English. She wanted to have a sonogram done at 28 weeks to check and see how my cervix was holding up and to check on Will's growth/progress. We found out that the size of my cervix has decreased slightly, but not enough to have the doctor concerned. If my cervix was to decrease to a unwanted size it would put me at a higher risk for pre-term labor. So far, my body is holding up just fine. :)

William is growing as he should be. We were able to look at his lungs, kidneys and bladder. His bone structure and fluid amounts looked great. His heart was beating at a lovely rate of 145. He is currently weighing 2.8 lbs.  The sonogram tech informed us that he currently falls in the 50th percentile. She told us that he looks healthy and seems to be developing according to schedule.  During the 3D sonogram, we were informed that Will was in a breech position. I was happy to hear that at this appointment (one week later) he had turned. His head was down and his little feet were now up towards my ribs. I know that this can change, but for now I felt better knowing that he had turned.

Dr. English wants me to start monitoring Will's kick counts and his daily activity. This shouldn't be a problem.  I have been able to feel Will move since the 15th week. He has only been getting stronger and more active ever since. Matt and I get can't help but smile every time that we feel him... it never gets old. Will is now strong enough (this started at 26 weeks) that we are able to see my belly move when he kicks.  The miracle of life... it amazes me each day.

This has been the most incredible journey. It's hard to believe that we are already at 28 weeks with only 12 weeks to go.  The journey of becoming a mommy has been my greatest accomplishment yet. Taking care of Will has consumed my every thought (which has affected other things in my life, like work.. but that is ok). I am counting down the days until our little guy gets here. I can't wait to hold our precious baby and to give him all of the love in the world. William Franklin Montgomery.... mommy and daddy love you more than words can describe.

The Nursery

The last couple of weeks have been really busy and extremely exciting for us. I'll do my best to catch everyone up on our recent activities...

Poppy and Grandma (Matt's parent's) came down over Labor Day weekend to help with the nursery. Matt and I spent (well, Matt did anyway) the weekend before they arrived emptying out the spare bedroom and getting all of those items into storage. We had the room cleared out and ready to go. Paul and Cheryl flew in on Thursday night. They taped the room on Thursday.
Paint color before

Paul and Cheryl spent all day Friday working on painting the nursery while I was at work. They were rock stars. Not only did they get the nursery painted...they also did the trim, painted the window sill and painted the bathroom in the nursery. I can't thank them enough for all of their hard work. I got home from work and my vision for the nursery was becoming a reality. To top it off, we got a call that our furniture was in (almost a month early). Matt and Paul got all the furniture picked up and put together. It was all falling into place: )

M for Montgomery
The dresser... I am still working on what what to put on it.
The glider is heaven. I caught daddy sleeping in it yesterday. :)
Thanks to Poppy and Grandma, we are now ahead of schedule on the nursery. I don't want to forget my wonderful husband... thank you for all of your hard and dedication on this project. I love you all so very much. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for the help that you gave me. Now, I can start working on all the small details.

Sorry it's been so long.

25 weeks
This was my first week back to work. Thank goodness the first week was all professional development... meaning no kiddos yet. Week 2 of school was when my kindergarteners arrived. My co-teacher (Jacqui) and I currently have 27 students. I have 3 students with special needs and she has 24 general education students. We are going to a whole group setting all day, which has been a challenge so far. Our environment can be a little (I'm being conservative) stressful at times. There is a little (big) voice in our room that I am sure Will would be able to pick out of a room full of people someday. Let's just say that he will never forget his vocals.  Back to school with the kiddos was a hard adjustment, but I imagine each day will get easier.

We spent week 23 on our Baby-moon in Hawaii.
This was the most wonderful week. Matt and I spent a week relaxing and enjoying some alone time on the beautiful island of Kauai. Matt was able to enjoy tons of (what looked to be) yummy drinks and I really enjoyed the huge breakfast that I was able to get each morning (waffles, chocolate chips pancakes with the choice of coconut, guava or regular syrup...yum!).

We took a helicopter ride, which was a wonderful way to see the beauty of Kauai. Unfortunately, the helicopter ride was not something that Will liked. I was very sick. I might just add that this was the first time that I had gotten sick during this pregnancy (I have been very lucky, I know).   I used my "comfort" bags and trooped through. I can only hope that I didn't ruin the trip for the other passengers. I felt horrible, but at least I tried.
I think I am ready...
We still managed to get some amazing photos.

We took a peaceful drive up to a canyon that took my breathe away.

The wind was blowing... just a little.

The time that Matt and I spent in Hawaii is a week that I will forever cherish. There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't spoil me rotten and treat me like a princess. My life is a fairytale. I have the most amazing husband and another great guy on the way. Someone pinch me...

Short and Sweet

I started back to work on Monday. That means I am extremely tired, but overall still feel really great. I'm getting ready to head to bed (8:41 p.m.) I'll put up a full post this weekend with pictures and updates.

By the way... tomorrow marks 25 weeks!!

One Fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish

Matt and I read our first book to William this week. We took turns reading each page. This was the beginning of Matt and I being ' real parents'
This book is just one of the many books that William received at the shower in KC last week (thank you Aunt, T!). Our visit to Kanas City last week was really busy, but we enjoyed every moment of it. Matt and I were happy that we were able to finally see everyone!!!

I was very grateful for the wonderful baby shower that was given to Will and I while we were home. Tina, Cheryl and Erin did a fantastic job organizing the festivities. I enjoyed being able to visit with all of our family and friends that were there. I do wish I had more time to visit with each person.

I think that it is safe to say that Will walked away with many, many wonderful gifts. Matt and I are still trying to figure out where we are going to put everything. Big thank you to everyone that was able to come!!!

22 weeks

Today I had an appointment with Dr.English. This was just a routine appointment, so no fun sonogram this time. However, I always think it's a great day when I get to hear William's heartbeat. His heartbeat was once again, music to my ears. His heartbeat was 150 today. The doctor said that anywhere from 120-160 is normal. :)

William has been very active for the past 4 weeks now. It's amazing how much stronger the bond that I have with him is now that I have been able to feel him move and kick. Our little guy is starting to settle into a pattern and I can almost predict the times of day when I will be able to feel him. I have to admit, if I don't feel him when I think I should be, I get a little sad. As soon as I feel him again, I beam with joy. There just isn't anything like it.

Every time I tell Matt that William is kicking, he always reaches his hand over in hopes to feel him. Matt has been lucky enough to feel him on a normal basis also. Who knew this little guy kicking inside me would be so addicting..... once you start to feel the kicks you are instantly hooked:) Matt and I are anxiously awaiting the day that we get to hold our sweet boy. We can't wait to meet him.

Our little peanut has a name!

This post is coming a bit late, as I know most of you already know the name that we have chosen for our little guy. For those of you that have not heard yet, our sweet angel's name is William Franklin Montgomery. We plan on having him go by Will, unless he is in trouble :) Given the image that we captured from the sonogram on Tuesday (July 12th), I already know that my baby is going to be a sweet little angel all of the time... so William won't have to be called out very often.

Yes, that is our little man sporting the middle finger. All I can say is that he takes after his daddy! I can not stop laughing about this picture. It's a classic, that I imagine will be shown to our son's future wife.

18 1/2 weeks.

Matt says that I am no longer allowed to take prego pictures of myself. He wants to take them. They do turn out a little better when I have him take them. I'm never been a fan of having my picture taken when I am standing by myself. But, I guess I have to remember that I am not by myself.... I have a baby boy with me:)

P.S. We have a name for our little guy. I will post more details later!

Sonogram Pictures from 16 weeks.

These pictures are a little more clear than the ones I have posted below.

Handsome profile I think. Jill, now that we know you are having a girl, you might want to get a good look at this handsome face. Could there be a future for our kiddos?

This picture is looking at his rump, the legs and of course the "family jewels" are located in the middle. He is a proud boy!

I ordered the bedding for this little guy today. The bedding will be custom made, but this picture below gives you an idea of what it will look like. We are having them monogram the letter "M" for Montgomery (if we have another boy in the future, we can possibly use the bedding again) on the center of the bumper. I can't wait until the bedding comes in. I am ready to get the nursery started!

The baby boy is 18 weeks and growing. :)
